When you buy a refurbished computer there are many important things to consider.

  1. Has the computer been thoroughly checked out and any problems noted?
We run a series of diagnostic tests, physical checks, and other tests on every computer to make sure that it is running well to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale.
  2. Is the computer running genuine software properly licensed, or is it running pirated software?
We only install genuine windows and freeware utility programs. Microsoft Security Essentials and AVG anti-virus free edition are for home users only, so if you are going to use it in a business environment, you need to upgrade to their commercial product or remove it and install a different antivirus program instead.
  3. Is it current with security updates, and does it include anti-virus software?
We load all current security updates at the time we refurbish the computer; however, sometimes it may need a few more updates when you first go online because it has not been up and running for a while.
  4. Does it come with a warranty?
All of our refurbished computers come with a 30 days labor only warranty which does not cover any software issues or cost of parts. Because the equipment has not been under our watch and care since it was brand new, we really have no idea at all how much longer it is or isn’t going to last. This is why we test it and make sure it is working well at the time you buy it.
  5. Are you going to be able to get a hold of the seller if you need to?
Our main shop on Vliet street is open seven days a week, call us anytime, 414.453.4438
  6. Have you considered that, being used, it is more likely to die sooner?
This is the fundamental underlying conflict with buying used equipment. It is not as expensive, but it is also not as likely to last as long. This is true of just about anything bought in used condition. We just want to make sure you have considered this before deciding to buy a used computer.
  7. Is there any support included with it?
We invite you to bring the computer into our shop 7 days a week for a free checkup if it has any problems (repairs, if needed, may cost extra).
  8. Can the seller help you set it up and network it if needed?
We would be happy to come to your house or business and get the computer all set up and do the networking as well. Service call fees apply.
  9. Make sure you know where you can get the computer fixed if needed.
You can bring the computer into our shop where we can fix it for you, starting with a free checkup, and we can also sell you a different refurbished computer if that is more cost effective and a better solution for you.
  10. Make sure the computer has what is needed to do the things you want to do with it.
If you’re not sure, let us know, and we’ll make sure you understand what it is that you are buying in terms of features and performance in a way you can understand it. We don’t want you to take a computer home thinking it will perform a certain task only to find out later that it can’t.
  11. Make sure the computer does not have any else’s information on it.
All of our refurbished computers are completely wiped clean of any prior information which may have been on them.
  12. Make sure the computer is free of viruses and spyware
All of our refurbished computers have brand new windows installations loaded from scratch current with all security updates at the time of installation, and therefore they are free of viruses and spyware at the time of sale.
